People refer to gold and titanium as "precious" metals because there is very little of them to be had. If one of us has something made of gold or titanium, our status in society immediately rises. Wilkes-Barre dentist Fotolia_7169755_XS.jpg

These metals are also non-toxic and very strong. They also provide good support when used in a Wilkes-Barre dental crown because they are very resistant to the pressures you exert on the teeth during hard chewing. Despite their strength, these metals are quite flexible and adhere to the shape of your teeth. Even biting hard won't give you any pain or aches. The more you use them, the better they get. It's like a pair of jeans have you have had for ages.

Metal crowns have specific advantages for certain types of people. For instance, people who grind their teeth when they speak or eat. A dental crown made of metal would safeguard your tooth from erosion because it is designed for that purpose.

We can also make crowns out of porcelain. It is also very strong. But porcelain has one characteristic that makes it unique. The great thing about it is that it looks like a real tooth - down to the minute details. However, how well it blends in with the other teeth also has to do with the technician's crafting skills.

At our Wilkes-Barre dental crown office, we have lab technicians who take pride in their work. They are careful and systematic in the way they go about giving you the best possible dental crown. With our porcelain dental crowns, you can boast real-looking teeth. Indeed, they will sparkle like original teeth.

This brings us to a third form of crown. This is made from porcelain and metal. This crown brings the best of both worlds. Porcelain might look real but its characteristics are not that great as a substitute for real teeth. If you use gold or other precious metals, they possess many of the physical characteristics of original teeth, but lack the look of proper teeth. The best way around this is to put the two together. At the bottom of the crown, we place the metal component. And the porcelain material is placed on top of that.

A Wilkes-Barre dental crown from us is something to value because you have something precious to hold on to with your teeth and in your heart.
