Gold evokes many images. When you talk about the metal you think of many things: prosperous, rich, flamboyant and money, just to name a few. There are no negative feelings with gold. It is always used to describe good things that appear on the outside. But golden has a completely different inference. When we talk about golden, we can refer to inner and outer qualities. It's amazing how we only added two letters to the word gold. And you can put a totally new perspective on the word. Wilkes-Barre dentist Fotolia_1912593_XS.jpg

A similar situation arises with gold dental crowns. A gold Wilkes-Barre dental crown has a softness about it that allows us to mold it to your specifications. This is actually a famous test for the authenticity of gold. You can tell if something is the real thing. If you have what you think is a gold coin, try to bite it. If your teeth put a mark on it, then you are probably holding an authentic gold coin.

Because of the flexibility of gold, it is able to protect anything it covers from violent jolts. This really helps when you have a gold dental crown. When you chew something, you won't have to worry about any pressure or force being transferred to the gums or nerves. Foods like carrot or rare steak could easily cause jolts in your mouth.

Picture a situation where the lab guys, for whatever reason, fail to adhere to my specifications, even if it almost never turns out that way. Let's suppose the golden crown has been made too small and it can't go on the stump of the tooth we are preparing for you. With a gold crown, it is easily fixed. I can simply shape the crown right away and we don't have to send it back to the lab team.

But, here comes the other side of the coin! Remember we talked about golden attributes? Well this is relevant here where golden crowns have inner and outer benefits. The softness of gold means you won't ever find cracks. This is why many people choose a gold dental crown. Because you don't have to fret about making an extra trip to Wilkes-Barre for repairs.

However, regardless of how exquisite this gold is, some people would rather use another substance. In this case, the best solution is a porcelain crown or a porcelain-metal crown.
