Back Mountain Dental / James C. DeFinnis D.M.D. -Gold Dental Crowns - A Nobel Cause
(I will never share your email or name with anyone)
If someone has nobility, he or she is probably a member of royalty. If you really think about the meaning, it is about having more importance than anyone else. It is being head and shoulders above the throng. You simply cannot do any wrong. Having nobility means that you are exalted by others. The aura you have is in your genes and in the genes of those who came before you.
In Wilkes-Barre dental crowns, there is something equivalent to nobility. Our crowns are the dental equivalent of royalty because of the full gold alloy we put in them. But full gold, being an alloy, consists of at least two of these: gold, palladium, or platinum.
Our crowns have a noble quality for its gold, of course. However, the reasons are not merely because of the precious metals that go into making them. But also in that they are very versatile yet hardy enough. This means that the crown can change shape if necessary. We can perform easy alterations right on the tooth that is being prepared for the crown.
These gold crowns also do very well in making sure your tooth doesn't feel the grinding and knocking of aggressive chewing. Hard vegetables such as carrots, half-cooked meats and several kinds of fruit can easily exert a strong force on your teeth.
Another thing that makes them so noble has to do with their capacity not to crack or fracture.
One of gold's most famous properties is that it can be molded and shaped without a problem. If you were to ever have a pure gold crown, you would know what I mean. When chewing, it would twist out of shape the first time you eat with it. It will be this flat misshaped lump of metal.
When making an alloy, it is designed so that the attributes of each metal are manifested in the final product. For instance, palladium can provide strength while we all know about gold's flexibility. Put them in the same mix and it results in a refined gold dental crown. This kind of crown won't let you down during times of hearty chewing. But it won't be too soft, due to the presence of palladium.
