Do you have any idea why people look at your teeth? Obviously, your smile is part of it. But in reality, it involves something more. A large part of the attraction has to do with the whiteness of your teeth. Wilkes-Barre dentist Fotolia_782456_XS.jpg

There are lots of tactics you can employ to get your teeth whiter and many methods include over the counter products. No matter if it's over the counter or in the dental chair, all whitening techniques include a teeth bleaching. And there are dentists who also use lights and lasers in their whitening process.

In a Wilkes-Barre dentist office, the dentist uses only enough bleach — not too much or too little — in trays made to fit your teeth. This means the dentist can be sure that it will be your teeth, not your gums, getting bleached. This can happen by you while you're at home, or the dentist can do it for you. When a Wilkes-Barre dentist does whitening, he doesn't use fancy lights because they suck all the water out of your teeth — that's how they get white. And that might be nice because they look radically whiter, but as soon as your teeth aren't dehydrated anymore (after about three days), your teeth will get darker and then you'll see what the shade "really" is.

Peroxide is the means of whitening your teeth during the bleaching process. Depending on how much peroxide is used, your gums might react sensitively. When a chemical substance is put on bodily tissue, it can bore in, so peroxide can sear your tissue if it's not used properly. Since you don't want that (obviously!), the tooth whitening Wilkes-Barre procedure doesn't leave the peroxide on the teeth for long periods of time. And since the tray has been made to fit your teeth, the bleach stays on the teeth and doesn't soak the gums.

At home, you can whiten your teeth two times a day for an hour each. But it's not a good idea to do it while you are sleeping. If you are also having the Wilkes-Barre whitening done in a dentist's office, then within six months, you will see the need to have another treatment. But to get the most of the process, it's a good idea to continue the treatment at home to guarantee that you get exactly what you want out of the whitening process.
